...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, and southwest
  Louisiana, including the following parishes, in central Louisiana,
  Evangeline and St. Landry. In south central Louisiana, Lafayette
  and St. Martin. In southwest Louisiana, Acadia and Allen.

* WHEN...Until 500 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
  Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
  passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1201 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    runoff from earlier heavy rainfall. Flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 4
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Opelousas, Crowley, Eunice, Ville Platte, Church Point,
    Mamou, Basile, Iota, Krotz Springs, Leonville, Arnaudville,
    Melville, Mermentau, Turkey Creek, Palmetto, Evangeline,
    Sunset, Port Barre, Pine Prairie and Washington.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Louisiana, including the following
  parishes, Catahoula and Concordia and Mississippi, including the
  following areas, Adams, Clarke, Copiah, Covington, Forrest,
  Franklin MS, Jasper, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lamar,
  Lauderdale, Lawrence, Lincoln, Marion, Newton, Rankin, Scott,
  Simpson and Smith.

* WHEN...Through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

  - Heavy rainfall the remainder of tonight through Saturday
    morning will bring the potential for 2 to 4 inches of

  Acadia, Northern Calcasieu, Northern Jefferson Davis, Rapides,
  Southern Acadia, Southern Calcasieu, Southern Jefferson Davis, St.
  Landry, Upper St. Martin, Upper Vermilion and Vernon and southeast
  Texas, including the following areas, Hardin, Lower Jefferson,
  Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Northern Orange, Southern

* WHEN...Through late Friday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,

  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
  in poor drainage and urban areas.

  - Another round of showers and thunderstorms is forecast on
    Friday afternoon into evening. Any additional rainfall
    falling over locations with saturated grounds, along with
    high flows along area creeks, bayous, and drainage ditches,
    will bring about an increased risk of flash flooding.

  Mobile Coastal, Mobile Inland, Monroe, Washington and Wilcox,
  northwest Florida, including the following areas, Escambia
  Coastal, Escambia Inland, Okaloosa Coastal, Okaloosa Inland, Santa

  - Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are expected to pass across
    the area through Saturday afternoon. Widespread rainfall
    amounts of 2 to 5 inches are expected, with localized totals
    above 6 inches possible. These totals, in addition to wet
    antecedent conditions from previous rainfall could result in
    flooding.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north central Louisiana,
northwest Louisiana and for deep east and northeast Texas along and
south of I-20.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the
Internet for more information about the Flood Watch until 7 AM.

Moderate to heavy rainfall has returned to the area as the next
system pushes into the region. Another 2 to 4 inches of rainfall with
isolated higher amounts will be possible in some locations before
ending early on Friday. In addition, the threat for some strong to
severe storms exist today with all modes of severe weather possible,
but damaging winds and large hail will be the highest threats.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

A chance for showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast
late Friday and early Saturday underneath the parent upper low. In
addition, a few strong to severe storms cannot be ruled out during
this timeframe for large hail primarily. Otherwise, improving
weather conditions are expected by Saturday afternoon and on through
early next week as temperatures climb into the lower 90s. Additional
rain chances may return on Wednesday with another weak cool front.

Spotter activation may yet be needed overnight.
