High Winds Expected for Portions of the North Central and Midwestern United States

Strong winds are expected today across a large area spanning from the Rockies to the Great Lakes and Tennessee Valley. Wind gusts may exceed 60 mph at times in some areas. Further west, the next in a series of storm systems will impact the Pacific Northwest beginning today and continuing into Saturday. Heavy mountain snowfall, lower elevation rain, and strong winds will be possible.
