Heavy rain, mountain snow, continue across parts of western U.S.

Heavy rain will continue across the Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West as the next in a series of storms moves onshore. Snow will develop at the higher elevations across the Cascades and northern and central Rockies. Strong winds are also likely. Rain and snow will also spread into northern California and the northern Sierra.
