Light rain and snow showers will continue to track rapidly east. A stray lightning strike is possible. Gusty winds to around 50 mph may accompany the showers, but may also blow over the higher terrain.
Isolated to scattered rain and snow showers northwest and central. Gusty southwest winds over the higher terrain. Lows 10 to 20 degrees above average.
Record warmth expected today and Wednesday, then cooler Thursday.
Strong winds Thursday central and east. Watch out for blowing dust. Be careful on the roads, especially high profile vehicles on north- south oriented highways.
Fire danger levels across portions of central and eastern New Mexico Thursday. Low humidities, high winds and lots of dry grassy fuels will lead to critical fire weather conditions. Be careful with ignition sources!
