Isolated storms will persist into the evening hours, with potential to expand in coverage along/east of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening between the Divide and east slopes of the central mountain chain to include the Rio Grande Valley. An even more active day is expected Sunday.
An active night with showers and thunderstorms, a few of which will be strong to severe. Locally heavy rain expected. A Convective Mesoscale System (an organized complex of showers and thunderstorms) could form over the east during the night.
Sunday looks to be the most active thunderstorm day of the new week. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected across the area. A few severe storms are possible, especially central and eastern areas.
