Yesterday's Highs and Low temperatures and past 24 hour precipitation.
Showers and thunderstorms will persist over northern and central New Mexico for the rest of the evening. Movement will be to the northeast around 10-15 mph. Wind gusts to around 45 mph, small hail and heavy rain will be associated with the stronger storms. Minor flooding of arroyos, streams, roads and low-lying areas is possible. Stay away from arroyos!
Pretty good coverage of showers and storms this evening across the west, with a general decrease going east. Isolated thunderstorms will survive into the northeast, but the southeast will be nearly rain free.
Abundant atmospheric moisture will combine with slow storm motion to produce locally heavy rainfall amounts near two inches, especially across east central and northeast New Mexico where a weak backdoor front will help to kick-off late day storms.
Dew point temperature is one of many parameters used to monitor moisture surges of the North American Monsoon across the Southwestern U.S.
