Winter precipitation begins to push into western areas, including the NM San Juans tonight. Winds begin to pick up over the eastern plains after midnight, and through the day Tuesday.
Very strong to potentially damaging winds will impact portions of central and eastern New Mexico on Tuesday. The most hazardous conditions will set up across roughly the southeast quarter.
Accumulating snowfall returns to the higher elevations of northern and western New Mexico tonight into Tuesday. The most significant totals are expected from the northwest mountain region south along the Continental Divide to the high peaks of the Gila Wilderness.
