A Heat Advisory remains over the SW while a backdoor front brings much cooler temperatures over the eastern plains. A few storms are possible over the central mtn chain this afternoon before drifting over the eastern plains.
In the wake of a cold front, isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop across the high terrain of New Mexico on Saturday. Storms will drift southeastward with a few strong cells possible. Temperatures will be cooler, about 10 to 20 degrees below average in eastern NM.
A backdoor front drops highs 15-30 degrees over the eastern plains today, with slightly cooler temperatures over central and western NM. Cooler temperatures break over the central mtn chain into the west Saturday.
