Northwest winds will increase most areas today as a weak storm system moves east through northern New Mexico. A few showers with snow above 8000 feet will continue across the northern mountains today. Temperatures will be near to slightly above seasonal averages for the date.
Near to slightly above normal temperatures will prevail on Monday. Mostly dry conditions are expected, but a few stray showers cannot be ruled out for northwestern portions of New Mexico. Breezy to windy conditions will develop in the late afternoon.
Another Pacific low will enter the region Tuesday and persist through the end of Wednesday. Models trending towards the potential for plenty of northern mountain snow mainly above 8,000' with valley rain over much of northern NM. The best chances of rain for the eastern plains looks to be Wednesday.
Record warmth in March 2017 resulted in 143 records at 34 stations on 15 days.
