Breezy west northwest winds east of the central mountains will produce a significant warm-up across the eastern plains today, where high temperatures will be in the 60s to low 70s. Very low relative humidity coupled with gusty winds will result in red flag conditions for portions of east central NM this afternoon into the early evening. High temperatures to the west of the central mountains will be near to slightly above normal with lighter winds.
A cold front will impact the east Tuesday, with gusty north to northeast winds and highs about 5 to 15 degrees cooler. The west will be a little warmer. It will be dry with variable amounts of high clouds.
