A backdoor cold front will move slowly west into central NM overnight and create gusty east canyon winds into the RGV. Cooler low temperatures are forecast behind the front.
A secondary surge of cold air behind a backdoor cold front Friday night will bring much colder temperatures to eastern NM on Saturday, with the front reaching westward into the RGV.
