December 2018 was near to warmer than normal, although the month ended very cold. Precipitation was varied.  

Two minor to moderate snow events occurred on the 2nd and 7th to 8th. Strong to high winds blasted much of the state on the night of the 12th and across the east on the 13th. It was pretty quiet from the 14th through 24th, with only one storm that brought some rain and high elevation snow over southern New Mexico late on the 17th into the 18th. The final week of December was extremely active as a major winter storm slammed New Mexico on the 27th through 28th. Another storm arrived from the north on the night of the 30th and spread south through New Year's Eve and New Year's Day..

Albuquerque
 

There was 0.49 inches of precipitation (both rain and snow) measured at the Sunport in December 2018, compared to the normal of 0.50 inches, or 0.01 inches below normal.

There was 3.3 inches of snow, compared to the normal of 2.7 inches. 

The average temperature for Albuquerque in December 2018 was 36.8°, which was 0.5 degrees above the normal of 36.3°.

The average maximum temperature for the month was 47.2°. This was 1.1 degrees above the normal average maximum temperature of 46.1°.

The average minimum temperature for the month was 26.4°. This was 0.1 degrees below the normal average minimum temperature of 26.5 degrees.

 Clayton
 

There was 0.44 inches of precipitation (both rain and snow) measured at Clayton in December 2018, or 0.08 inches above the average of 0.36 inches.

There was 3.3 inches of snow, compared the normal of 6.4 inches. 

The average temperature for Clayton in December 2018 was 34.7°, which was 0.1 below the normal of 34.8°.

The average maximum temperature for the month was 47.7°. This was exactly the normal of 47.7 degrees.

The average minimum temperature for the month was 21.7°. This was 0.2 degrees below the normal average minimum temperature of 21.9°.

 Roswell
 

There was 1.05  inches of precipitation (rain) reported at Roswell during December of 2017, which is 0.41 inches above the normal of 0.64 inches. 

There was 5.8 inches of snow, compared to the normal of 3.7 inches.

The average temperature in Roswell for December 2018 was 41.6°, which is 1.2 degrees above the normal of 40.4 degrees. 

The average maximum temperature for the month was 53.1°. This was 1.5 degrees below the average maximum temperature of 54.6 degrees.

The average minimum temperature for the month was 30.0°. This was 3.9 degrees above the normal average minimum temperature of 26.1°
