A backdoor cold front will move southwestward across New Mexico today, bringing much cooler temperatures to eastern and central New Mexico. High temperatures in far western New Mexico will be near to slightly above normal , while the rest of the region will be 5 to 10 degrees below normal. A weak low pressure system will bring light snow and a mix of snow and rain to northern New Mexico today. Accumulations will be less than one inch across most of northern New Mexico, except 1 to 2 inches in the higher elevations.
Mostly sunny and warmer Friday with highs near to above average for mid December.
A cold front will arrive today with some light rain and snow for the northern mountains and northeastern plains. Conditions clear out and warm a bit Friday and Saturday before another weather system arrives Sunday.
