The weather will show no love this Valentine's and Washington's Birthday weekend to those with travel plans. Low pressure moving across the Northern Plains is bringing freezing rain/drizzle, snow, and wind to the area and will continue doing so through Sunday morning. Freezing rain across central South Dakota of up to 0.12" has already fallen, and all precipitation has since transitioned to snow. A new winter storm warning is now in effect for the counties shown below (main website county display is in error) meaning at least 6" will be possible. Southerly winds of 15-25 mph with higher gusts will also continue into the overnight leading to some blowing snow and reduced visibilities through Sunday morning.
