Bitterly cold wind chills of 10 to 25 below zero are expected this morning across portions of southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa.  Frostbite can occur to exposed skin in 30 minutes or less in these conditions. Also, be alert for slippery stretches on roadways from Monday's snow.

  • What: Wind chills of -10° to -25°. Slippery travel in spots. 
  • Where:West of the Mississippi River.
  • Timing: Through noon today. 
  • Impacts: Frostbite can occur to exposed skin in 30 minutes or less
  • ACTION: Cover exposed skin. Wear several layers of clothing, hat and gloves. Protect pets from the cold, make sure they have shelter and fresh water. Limit outdoor exposure if possible.
