Description: The National Weather Service in Binghamton, NY is looking for
engaging students who would like experience working in a local weather service office. With this
internship you will gain valuable knowledge in the day-to-day operations of the office including
warning operations, participating in office outreach and storm surveys, an opportunity to conduct
research, and learn whether or not this is a career path you may be interested in. Length of
internship: Averaging 15-25 hours per week, starting late May/early June and lasting until early
August. This is an unpaid internship. Start/end dates flexible but you must be committed to being
here at on average 2 to 3 days each week.
Eligibility: Full time students majoring in meteorology, atmospheric
science, or hydrology. Preference will be given to those who will be completing at least their
sophomore year this spring. You do not need to receive credit through your school to be eligible.
