Weather Service in Binghamton, NY has confirmed a tornado track from Troupsburg to Rathbone in
Steuben county New York on the evening of Saturday July 27, 2013. The tornado touched down initially
about 1 mile southwest Troupsburg and tracked northeast blowing down numerous trees and snapping
power poles. About 1 mile southeast of Troupsburg, a barn was completely destroyed by the
The tornado lifted briefly about 3.5 miles east northeast of troupsburg. Maximum winds with the
initial touch down were about 100 mph in the EF1 category. The tornado touched down
the second time 1.5 miles northwest of woodhull and tracked northeast knocking down more trees, and
destroying a greenhouse. The tornado lifted again about 2.5 miles north northeast of Woodhull.
Maximum winds were estimated at 90 mph during the second touch down.
The tornado touched down for the final time almost 3 miles west of rathbone and tracked northeast
knocking down a swath of red pine trees, uprooting hardwoods and blowing siding off a trailer. The
tornado peaked at about 100 mph again on its final leg before lifting 1.5 miles northwest of
Rathbone. The tornado was on the ground for about 30 minutes and about 6 miles out of its 14 mile
