National Weather Service meteorologists surveyed the damage near the Peace community in far southwestern Autauga County. It has been determined that the damage was consistent with a tornado. Winds were estimated around 90 mph. The tornado touched down near the Alabama River and then moved northeastward and crossed County Road 1. The tornado lifted near County Road 9. Hundreds of trees were snapped off or were uprooted along the path. The tornado damage path was 3.01 miles long and 800 yards wide at its widest point.
A Tornado Warning was in effect from 919 pm until 10 pm.
