            LIFT NEAR HAMILTON JR CRAFT ROAD.

            *** 9 FATAL *** THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ALONG COUNTY
            ROAD 209 NEAR MEADOWVIEW DRIVE WHERE A FEW SNAPPED TREES
            WERE NOTED. FROM THERE, THE TORNADO QUICKLY INTENSIFIED
            AS IT MOVED NORTHEAST THROUGH DEXTER WIDENING AND
            PRODUCING EF-2 DAMAGE TO SEVERAL HOMES. FROM THERE, IT
            CONTINUED ACROSS HIGHWAY 9 DAMAGING SEVERAL HOMES, THEN
            INTENSIFIED TO EF-3 STRENGTH AS IT MOVED THROUGH A MOBILE
            HOME PARK AT THE INTERSECTION OF MIDDLE ROAD AND AUCTION
            BARN ROAD COMPLETELY DESTROYING 10 MOBILE HOMES AND
            KILLING 4 PEOPLE.

            AN EF-1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 2 MILES ESE OF VINCENT
            IN EASTERN SHELBY COUNTY AND MOVED NORTHEAST INTO WESTERN
            TALLADEGA COUNTY SNAPPING OFF AND/OR UPROOTING DOZENS OF
            HARD AND SOFT WOOD TREES ALONG THE PATH. THE ONLY HOME
            DAMAGE FOUND ALONG THE PATH WAS DUE TO FALLEN TREES. THE
            TRACK WAS 6.8 MILES LONG AND 200 YARDS WIDE AT ITS WIDEST
            POINT...WITH PEAK WINDS OF 105 MPH.

            THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 1 MILE WEST OF HIGHWAY 35
            ALONG COUNTY ROAD 38 WHERE IT PRODUCED SOME DAMAGE TO
            TREES IN A 50 YARD WIDE AREA. THE TORNADO INTENSIFIED TO
            EF-1 STRENGTH AS IT CROSSED HIGHWAY 45 WHERE IT WIDENED
            TO NEAR 200 YARDS AND THE WINDS INCREASED TO NEAR 90 MPH
            CLOSE TO THE FAITH CHAPEL BAPTIST CHURCH SNAPPING SEVERAL
            TREES IN HALF AND UPROOTING SEVERAL MORE. THE TORNADO
            THEN QUICKLY DISSIPATED AS IT MOVED EAST OF COUNTY ROAD 4
            AS A NARROW EF-0 TORNADO LESS THAN 50 YARDS WIDE.

            EXTENSIVE DAMAGE.

            THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ALONG COUNTY ROAD 225, UPROOTING
            AND SNAPPING SEVERAL HARD AND SOFTWOOD TREES, AS WELL AS
            DOING SIGNIFICANT ROOF DAMAGE TO A SINGLE FAMILY
            RESIDENCE. THE TORNADO CONTINUED EAST-NORTHEAST CROSSING
            COUNTY ROADS 178 AND 176 WHERE NUMEROUS HARD AND SOFTWOOD
            TREES WERE UPROOTED AND SNAPPED.THE TORNADO TRACKED
            FURTHER EAST-NORTHEAST BEFORE LIFTING NEAR COUNTY ROAD
            267 WHERE ADDITIONAL TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED.

            THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ALONG COUNTY ROAD 267, JUST
            NORTH OF THE ENDING PATH OF THE WHITE PLAINS TORNADO. THE
            PATHS DID NOT JOIN UP AT ANY POINT AS BOTH DAMAGE WIDTHS
            WERE RELATIVELY SMALL. DAMAGE AT COUNTY ROAD 267 INCLUDED
            SEVERAL SHEARED SOFTWOOD TREE TOPS ALONG WITH SOME
            UPROOTED TREES. THE TORNADO CONTINUED NORTHEAST CROSSING
            COUNTY ROAD 270 WHERE ADDITIONAL TREES WERE SNAPPED AND
            AN OUTBUILDING HAD MINOR ROOF DAMAGE. THE TORNADO
            TRAVELED NORTHEAST LIFTING ALONG COUNTY ROAD 278.

            THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN AT THE INTERSECTION OF U.S.
            HIGHWAY 31 AND COUNTY ROAD 24 JUST NORTHEAST OF VERBENA
            UPROOTING A FEW OAK TREES. THE TORNADO CONTINUED
            NORTHEASTAND CROSSED THE INTERSECTION OF COUNTY ROADS 59
            AND 24 DAMAGING A METAL CARPORT OF ONE HOME DAMAGING THE
            ROOF OF A SINGLE-WIDE MOBILE HOME AND UPROOTING TREES IN
            A 50 YARD WIDE PATH. THE TORNADO QUICKLY DISSIPATED EAST
            OF COUNTY ROAD 59.
