Based on eyewitness accounts and subsequent surveys by County Officials, two tornado touchdowns have been identified in western Alabama on Saturday May 2nd.
A brief tornado touchdown was reported by two law enforcement officers in a wooden area near the intersection of State Highway 18 and State Highway 107. This location is just northwest of the city of Fayette. A subsequent survey of the area by county officials revealed very little damage.

Based on eyewitness accounts and subsequent surveys by County Officials, two tornado touchdowns have been identified in western Alabama on Saturday May 2nd.
A storm survey by Lamar County Officials revealed a tornado damage path near the Hightogy and Kingville Communities. The tornado touched down along State Highway 17 just south of Hightogy. The tornado then traveled east northeast and lifted after it crossed County Road 20 near Wright Road. The damage path was mainly confined to wooded areas. Several trees were snapped off along the path and a few roadways were temporarily impassable.
