Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight across Deep South Texas with a slight chance for rain showers and perhaps a thunderstorm. Otherwise, anticipate a mild night with temperatures in the 70s for most across the region. Patchy fog may develop late tonight into early tomorrow morning except along the immediate coast. Motorists when encountering fog are advised to slow down, use your low beam headlights and avoid tailgating. For the mariners, expect light east- southeast winds with a light chop on the bay and seas of 2 to 4 feet on the coastal gulf waters.
Showers and thunderstorms continue to be a threat through this week, with Wednesday seeing the highest chances for rain due to the proximity of a frontal system stalling north of the valley before lifting northeast. Overnight low temperatures will remain near normal into next weekend. High temperatures will sit below normal Tuesday and Wednesday due to cloud cover and rain before rising above normal by next weekend.
