On the 2nd...Isolate strong to severe thunderstorms developed ahead
of an approaching weak cold front. The storms downed a few trees in
Lee and Sumter counties.

On the 5th...A stalled frontal boundary just west of the area was
the focus for strong to severe thunderstorms to develop. The storms
downed several trees from Fairfield county across Kershaw and Sumter
counties into Calhoun and Orangeburg counties.

On the 14th...Strong to severe thunderstorms developed just south of
a stalled frontal boundary across North Carolina. The storms
produced strong damaging wind gusts across the northern and central
Midlands. There were numerous reports of downed trees and power
lines from Chesterfield county southward to Richland County.

On the 17th...A backdoor cold front moved southward through the
Carolinas into east-central Georgia. Severe thunderstorms developed
ahead of the front and produced numerous reports of trees...power
lines and hail from the northern Midlands southward to the CSRA. The
most significant damage occurred along the shores of Lake Thurmond
at Elijah Clark State Park and Mistletoe State Park.

Downburst winds from both thunderstorms produced an area of
significant damage to trees and property at both locations. Over
200 trees and limbs were damage...uprooted or snapped by the strong
winds. There were also several power lines downed by the winds.
There were approximately 10 to 15 vehicles that were damaged and 10

The diameter of the trees ranged from 6 inches up to 2 feet. There
was 1 injury associated with the event.

southeast through the area. This produced a few strong to severe
thunderstorms across the eastern Midlands from Calhoun county to
Clarendon county. The damaging winds downed multiple trees just
outside of Summerton.

On the 30th...A stationary front across the Upstate was the focus
for strong to severe thunderstorms to develop and affected the
Midlands and CSRA. The strongest storms went across Chesterfield
county downing trees and producing hail up to quarter
size.
