John Guiney, Chief, Meteorological Services Division, Eastern Region

Retired Navy Vice Admiral Conrad Lautenbacher, Jr., NOAA Administrator (second from left), was recently in St. Louis to take part in the White House Conference on Cooperative Conservation. On August 30, Steve Thomas, WFO St. Louis Meteorologist in Charge, joined the VADM for an interview and call-in program on the local National Public Radio station. The VADM was then escorted to the WFO where he met with Acting Central Region Director Gary Foltz and WFO staff. The VADM received an overview of WFO operations and an office tour. He addressed WFO staff, followed by an informative question and answer session.
