NWS Storm Prediction Center Hosts
Severe Weather Workshop
The Severe Weather Warning Workshop featured a panel discussion
of public-private sector use of doppler radar and the need
for a unified warning message. Standing at the podium is
Don Burgess (National Severe Storms Laboratory-NSSL).
The other participants, from left to right, are Dave Freeman,
KSNW-TV, Wichita; Rodger Brown, NSSL; Les Lemon, Baron Services;
Dave Andra, NWS-OUN; and Liz Quoetone,NWS Office of Climate,
Water, and Weather Services.
Left to right, Steve Weiss (NWS Storm Prediction
Center SOO); Bob Johns (retired SPC SOO), and Louis Uccellini,
Director of the NWS National Centers for Environmental
