A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through 10 AM Tuesday for the bays, waterways and coastal waters of Gulf of Mexico. Southeast winds of 20 knots with gusts up to 30 knots will be possible with seas 5 to 8 feet.
Today will be hot with temperatures in the 80s to the east and 90s out west. Heat indices out west will be around 100°F. Southeasterly wests will increase this afternoon around 20-25 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH.
Mostly cloudy skies, breezy winds, and temperatures in the mid 70s are expected along the Middle Texas coast today. There is a MODERATE risk of rip currents today. Always use caution in the water, especially when swimming near piers and jetties.
Tonight will be humid with low temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s under mostly cloudy skies.
We will continue to warm up through the work week. Chances for showers and thunderstorms return Thursday and again over the weekend as a cold front moves through. Cooler temps are in store in the wake of the front.
