Heavy rain possible across southern Plains and western Gulf Coast through this weekend

Several areas of surface low pressure are anticipated to form over the western Gulf Coast region, then track east-northeastward across the Southeast. This will bring showers and thunderstorms across south Texas beginning Friday afternoon.
