Showers and thunderstorms will spread across north and central Georgia this morning. As a strong upper level disturbance interacts with warm and moist air near the surface, the potential for strong to severe storms will increase, especially later this morning through the afternoon hours. Large hail, damaging winds, and even brief tornadoes are all possible, especially for areas along and south of I-20. Locally heavy rain could also create brief flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas.
