There is a marginal to slight risk of severe thunderstorms today, mainly across central and eastern Georgia. Widespread rain and some thunder will move across western and northern Ga this morning and then shift east across central and eastern Georgia this afternoon and evening. The primary threats will be damaging wind and hail with any severe storm activity. Heavy rainfall with some local ponding of water on roadways and perhaps a few rivers approaching bank-full will also be a concern.
The KFFC (Atlanta) radar is down until further notice due to a technical issue. Radar coverage is available from adjacent radar sites: NWS Birmingham (BMX), Maxwell AFB (MXX), NWS Huntsville (HTX), and Warner Robins AFB (JGX).
