Wildfire Danger Continues in Southern California

High pressure building into the Western U.S. will create strong offshore winds in southern California. Temperatures in this region are unseasonably hot, and conditions are dry. The combination of these strong winds and dry conditions will bring fire danger to portions of southern California. Red Flag Warnings are in effect here. Aerial Photos of Flooding on June 6, 2008

 

Aerial photos taken on Friday, June 6, over southwestern McCook and northeastern Hutchinson counties in southeastern South Dakota.  This is very indicative of the type of flooding and ponding that is occurring over large portions of the area due to the 3 to 6 inches of rain that has fallen in the past week.
