Snow Will Continue Into Tonight

Here is the latest information. As of 1 am this morning, the Door county sheriff department estimated that 13 inches of snow had fallen in Ellison Bay and 8 inches at Sister Bay.  Latest radar early this morning indicated that the snow band is expected to shift westward into the remainder of Door county southward into Manitowoc county by sunrise. The heavier snow showers will be capable of reducing visibilities down to a quarter of a mile or less and produce snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. For the remainder of the region, light to moderate snow will continue through much of today into tonight before gradually tapering off or ending. For those living along the Lake Michigan shoreline, another band of heavy snow is again possible this evening into early Tuesday morning as the band is expected to shift southward overnight.

Here is the latest storm total snowfall forecast. It is now likely that a few spots across Door county could see over 15 inches of snow with this system. Expected snowfall totals through tonight. Click images for larger view.
