THE FOLLOWING REPORTS WERE RECEIVED FROM COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS 
CENTERS IN THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT. SOME SPOTTER
REPORTS ARE ALSO INCLUDED.
 
AVERY COUNTY...4 INCHES SNOWFALL IN NEWLAND.  UP TO 6 INCHES NEAR 
THE TENNESSEE LINE...WITH MORE POSSIBLE AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
 
BUNCOME COUNTY...1 TO 3 INCHES SNOWFALL WESTERN AND NORTHERN 
SECTIONS OF THE COUNTY WITH ABOUT AN INCH ON ROADS DOWNTOWN.  BLACK 
MOUNTAIN HAD 1 TO 2 INCHES.
 
BURKE COUNTY...SOME SNOW AROUND JONAS RIDGE BUT AMOUNTS NOT 
REPORTED.  THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HAD BEEN WORKING ON THE 
SNOW.
 
CALDWELL COUNTY...ABOUT 7 INCHES OF SNOWFALL WITHIN ABOUT 10 MILES 
OF BLOWING ROCK...WITH 3 INCHES OF THAT TOTAL FALLING SINCE ABOUT 8 
PM EST.
 
GRAHAM COUNTY...ABOUT 3 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IN ROBBINSVILLE WITH MUCH 
MORE IN WESTERN SECTIONS.  A SPOTTER REPORTED 8 INCHES ALONG THE 
SKYWAY AROUND 8 PM...WITH THE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER REPORTING UP TO 
2 FEET...PERHAPS IN DRIFTS...AT HOOPERS BALD WHICH IS 5000 FEET 
ELEVATION.
 
HAYWOOD COUNTY...ABOUT 4 INCHES NEAR THE TENNESSEE LINE WITH JUST A 
GOOD DUSTING AROUND WAYNESVILLE.
 
HENDERSONVILLE...SOME SNOW BLEW AROUND DURING THE EVENING BUT NO 
ACCUMULATIONS.
 
JACKSON COUNTY...2 INCHES SNOWFALL AROUND CASHIERS WITH JUST AN INCH 
OR SO MOST PLACES AROUND SYLVA.  MORE LIKELY IN HIGHER ELEVATIONS.  
CHEROKEE HAD ABOUT AN INCH AND A HALF AT MID EVENING.
 
MACON COUNTY...NANTAHALA REPORTED 5 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOWFALL. 
HIGHLANDS HAD AN INCH OR TWO...WITH ONLY ABOUT A HALF INCH IN 
FRANKLIN.  HOWEVER...THE ROADS WERE VERY SLICK IN TOWN.
 
MADISON COUNTY...A PUBLIC REPORT OF 7 INCHES IN PETERSBURG.  ABOUT 3 
TO 4 INCHES AROUND MARSHALL...WITH GENERALLY 4 TO 6 INCHES ACROSS 
MUCH OF THE COUNTY.
 
MITCHELL COUNTY...AROUND 7 INCHES SNOWFALL NORTHERN END WITH 2 TO 3 
INCHES COMMON IN THE SOUTHERN END.
 
SWAIN COUNTY...4 INCHES SNOWFALL IN THE GORGE WITH AND INCH OR TOWN 
IN BRYSON CITY.  UP TO 7 INCHES NEAR THE TENNESSEE LINE.
 
YANCEY COUNTY...3 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOWFALL AROUND THE COUNTY.
