DEEPENING MID-LATITUDE TROUGH AND ASSOCIATED STRONG COLD FRONT
CONTINUE TO DEVELOP EAST ACROSS THE SRN/CNTRL APPALACHIANS THIS
AFTERNOON. LINEAR FORCING ALONG THE FRONT...FROM WRN NC INTO SWRN
VA...SHOULD CONTINUE TO SUPPORT A FAST-MOVING SQUALL LINE WITHIN
MARGINALLY UNSTABLE AIR MASS.
 
OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF HOURS...SEVERAL STORMS ALONG THE SQUALL LINE
HAVE SHOWN A TENDENCY TO BOW OUT. ADDITIONAL DISCRETE BUT ISOLATED
UPDRAFTS HAVE BEEN FORMING IN WARM SECTOR ENVIRONMENT FROM NRN GA
INTO WRN NC FOOTHILLS. FORCING WITH THE FRONT AND FAVORABLE LARGE
SCALE DYNAMICS SHOULD OFFSET WEAK INSTABILITY AND CONTINUE TO
SUPPORT SEVERE STORMS WITH HAIL AND HIGH WINDS MOVING ACROSS THE
REST OF WW 810 THROUGH EARLY EVENING.
