Increasing heat stress is expected on Thursday as heat & humidity will help heat indices rise to near 106-109 degrees mid-morning through early evening, mainly for the areas along & west of the I-55 corridor. Areas to the east the heat indices could approach 105 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect from 9AM through 7PM for areas along & west of the I-55 corridor. Heat exhaustion & illnesses are possible. Make sure to stay hydrated, limit outdoor strenuous activities & take breaks.
Hot & humid afternoon, especially in the ArkLaMiss Delta, is expected today. Better chances of thunderstorms will exist in the NW. Expect high temperatures in the low 90s with increasing heat & humidity.
Rain chances will stick around through the evening and early night time hours. Lows will be in the mid 70's.
Temperatures in the 90's will combine with high humidity values to result in warm heat index values. There will be chances of thunderstorms as a weak front pushes through the region.
