Life threatening cold will result in dangerous impacts to life and property. Temperatures are in the single digits this morning along and north of the I-20 corridor and into the low teens everywhere else. Highs today will generally range from the upper 20s to lower 30s with lows tonight ranging from 10 to 15 degrees.
Wind chill values will generally range from -5 to the single digits through the morning hours today. Such conditions will increase hypothermia risk and could promote frostbite on skin exposed for long periods of time.
The sub freezing temperatures will combine with wet roads and snow cover to produce black ice today, especially this morning. Motorists are urged to use caution and drive at slower speeds.
Temperatures will remain very cold today, despite plenty of sunshine. Afternoon highs could sneak above freezing for an hour in a few spots along and south of the Highway 84 corridor, but generally anticipate highs ranging from 27 to 32 degrees.
