Snow is continuing across much of south and east Mississippi into through this evening. Prepare for slick roads due to snow-covered roads & bridges, with dangerous travel across most of the region.
Life threatening cold will result in dangerous impacts to life and property. Temperatures will drop into the single digits tonight along the Hwy 82 corridor and into the low teens everywhere else.
Wind chills will be dangerously low this evening through Wednesday morning, ranging from -5 to 5 degrees. Dress in extra layers and check on elderly and pets.
The sub freezing temperatures will combine with wet roads and snow cover to produce black ice tonight into Wednesday . Motorists are urged to use caution and drive at slower speeds.
Dangerous wind chills ranging from 5 to -5 are expected tonight across much of the area.
