Severe thunderstorms will be possible through the rest of this afternoon along and ahead of a cold. Damaging wind gusts and hail will be the primary concern, but a tornado cannot be ruled out.
Showers and thunderstorms will move across the area from the northwest ahead of a cold front this afternoon. A few severe storms will be possible. Before the rain moves in, high temperatures will climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s.
A few showers will linger during the evening in the south, otherwise, skies will clear as temperatures settle in the upper 30s and 40s by early Thursday morning.
Sunny skies and cool conditions will prevail Thursday as highs top out in the 60s.
