A very warm late February day is in store for Mardi Gras Day with daytime temperatures flirting with daily records and possibly the warmest Mardi Gras in New Orleans (currently 83F last set 1932 and 1917). A cold front will sweep through the region late Wednesday and bring temperatures closer to seasonal. Some showers and storms may accompany the frontal passage Wednesday afternoon and evening. The storms could be strong to severe over southern Mississippi and portions of southeast Louisiana north of a Donaldsonville to New Orleans line.
Climate data for February 28th.
