Active Weather Pattern Continues for the Northwestern U.S.

A series of Pacific storm systems will bring periods of locally heavy rain, gusty winds, and mountain snow to portions of Washington and Oregon for the next couple days. In addition, much of the northwestern U.S. and Intermountain West will experience strong winds from these storm systems, particularly in Sierra Nevada, Great Basin, and the northern Rockies/High Plains. A Freeze Warning is in effect late tonight and early Friday morning for portions of south Mississippi and southeast Louisiana. The Freeze Warning is in effect from 4 am to 8 am Friday for extreme southwest Mississippi, Pearl River County Mississippi , and the northshore area of southeast Louisiana. A light freeze is forecast as temperatures fall into the 30 to 32 degree range for a 2 to 4 hour period.
Sunny and dry weather will prevail through weekend. Temperatures will gradually warm during the period. Highs in the 60s on today will warm into the lower 70s on Saturday. Lows in the 30s and 40s tonight and will warm into the 40s and 50s Saturday night.
