Strong to severe storms are possible tonight into Thursday for southern Mississippi and southeast Louisiana. Be sure to check for latest forecast, watch and warning information.
Storms should moving into the far western poritons of the forecast area around 10 PM tonight and gradually move eastward through the overnight hours reaching the Baton Rouge, McComb, Hammond areas after 1 AM. Storms should reach the Slidell and New Orleans metro areas by 7 AM. Storms should reach the Mississippi Gulf Coast Counties after 7 AM Thursday morning.
There will be a Slight Risk of severe weather for all of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi Thursday. Keep up to date on the latest forecasts, watches and warnings through Thursday.
The evening hours are expected to be mainly dry with a warm southerly breeze. Thunderstorms are expected to move into south central Louisiana and portions of southeast Louisiana and southwest and south central Mississippi during the overnight hours, and across southeast Mississippi and much of southeast Louisiana Thursday morning into the early to mid afternoon hours. Some of the thunderstorms may become severe late tonight into Thursday. Drier air with lower humidity and clearing skies are expected later Thursday night into Friday.
