Severe Thunderstorms & Heavy Rain in the Plains/Midwest; Clouds and Rain Threaten Eclipse Viewing for Some

While much of the nation observes today's eclipse, clouds threaten to obscure the view in parts of the Plains, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southwest, and Southeast states. The weather could be more than just a nuisance in the north-central Plains and Midwest where scattered severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening.
