Louisville, KY
Weather Forecast Office
The summer of 2016 will go down as one of the warmer ones on record, not because of any overly hot days, but because of the persistence of days above normal. That is especially true of the nighttime lows, where Louisville and Lexington have seen long streaks of temperatures above normal. The graphic below indicates a couple of persistence streaks that are nearing or at record lengths, temperatures at or above 60 (55) for Louisville (Lexington). It also indicates how late we are for reaching the 50s for the first time in the Fall Season at Louisville (currently we are the record latest) and reaching the lower 50s or less for Lexington (the record is the end of the month).
The current forecast calls for an abrupt end to these streaks though, somewhere between late Monday night or Tuesday, as a cold front pushes through the region.
