A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 7 am this morning through 7 am Wednesday morning from the southern South Plains through most of the Rolling Plains. Widespread moderate rain showers and a few thunderstorms with heavy rain will bring additional rainfall of one to three inches in the watch area with locally heavier amounts. Remember, turn around, don't drown.
Widespread rain is expected for the South Plains region over the next two days. Rain totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected to be common through Wednesday with areas of 3 to 5+ inches in the Rolling Plains. The heaviest rain is expected to fall today through tomorrow morning. There is the possibility that the heavy rain will cause some flooding especially across the southern South Plains and the Rolling Plains where a flood watch is in effect through 7am Wednesday.
