After a few abnormally dry days across Arkansas...more typical warm and very humid air returns to the state through the end of the week. Highs are expected to remain near seasonal normals through the end of the week...for this time of year that puts highs in the mid 80s to lower 90s. Humidity will increase quite a bit today...and will increase further through Friday as Gulf moisture surges back north ahead of a cold front that is expected to arrive Friday afternoon. The addition of high humidity to the near normal heat of summer will allow heat index values to climb into the mid to upper 90s for most locations each afternoon Wednesday through Friday. If outdoors...remember to remain hydrated and take plenty of breaks from work during the peak heating hours of the day.
The extended weather outlooks are calling for a decent chance of above normal temperatures in both the 6 to 10 day and 8 to 14 day outlooks.
The extended weather outlooks are calling for near normal rainfall in both the 6 to 10 day and 8 to 14 day outlooks. The exception is over the NE where there is a slightly better chance of seeing above normal rain.
