A line of thunderstorms is expected to move across the western half of Arkansas Saturday night...and some of these storms may become strong to severe. The primary threat with any severe storm is expected to be damaging winds. Localized flash flooding and isolated tornadoes are also possible...although the threat for tornadoes is relatively low. Storms will continue to move southeast across central Arkansas early Sunday morning. Storms are not expected to be as strong at that time and the overall threat for severe storms on Sunday is low. The greatest chance for severe storms will be across northwest Arkansas Saturday after sunset.
A storm system will bring the best chance for rain we've seen in quite some time this weekend. Coverage wise, it looks to be the most widespread rain we've had in some time. Precipitation looks to be heaviest on Saturday night and Sunday morning, and will taper off by Monday. Much of the state could see an inch or more of rainfall.
A cold front will move southeast into the state late Saturday night into the very early hours on Sunday. Here are your chances for showers and thunderstorms before daylight on Sunday morning.
The cold front will continue to move southeast through the state on Sunday...with the best chances for seeing showers and thunderstorms shifting east. Here are your rain chances after daylight on Sunday.
