On this day back in 2011, an isolated supercell thunderstorm produced a tornado in Madison and Newton Counties. The tornado was rated an EF-1 and tracked for a little over 28 miles through the Ozark Mountains. Hundreds of trees were blown down, and several homes and vehicles were damaged by falling trees.
