OCTOBER WAS A RELATIVELY WARM MONTH...AND UP TO THE FINAL WEEK...A DRY
MONTH. TEMPERATURES WERE OVER 2.5 DEGREES ABOVE THE 30-YEAR AVERAGE. HOWEVER...
THE MONTH DID NOT MAKE IT INTO THE TOP 10 WARMEST. THE WARMEST PERIOD CAME
DURING THE SECOND AND PART OF THE THIRD WEEKS...WHEN DAILY TEMPERATURES WERE
AS HIGH AS 10 DEGREES OR MORE ABOVE AVERAGE. RECORD-BREAKING WARMTH CAME ON THE
12TH-15TH...WHEN DAILY RECORD HIGHS WERE SET ALMOST EVERY DAY. IN FACT...IT WAS
DURING THIS PERIOD WHEN LITTLE ROCK SET THE ALL-TIME HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR
THE MONTH OF OCTOBER. BY THE 16TH...COOLER WEATHER SET IN...THOUGH THROUGH THE END
OF THE MONTH...ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES LARGELY CONTINUED.

RAINFALL WAS SPARSE DURING THE FIRST THREE WEEKS OF THE MONTH...WITH ONLY 0.02
INCHES RECORDED. THIS BROKE A 28-DAY DRY SPELL WHICH STARTED ON SEPTEMBER 10TH.
THE REMAINING RAIN FELL IN THE LAST NINE DAYS OF THE MONTH. EVEN THOUGH THE MONTH
ENDED WITH BELOW-AVERAGE RAINFALL..IT WAS STILL THE WETTEST OCTOBER IN SEVERAL
YEARS.

.MONTHLY TEMPERATURES...
THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS THE COOLEST SINCE 2013. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE
