Although it will be chilly to start the day, temperatures will warm to to only 5-10 degrees below normal this afternoon on gusty westerly winds.
Westerly winds will be most pronounced over southwest Texas through early this evening. Since wind speeds of 25-35 mph will affect these areas, along with gusts as high as 50 mph, a Wind Advisory remains in effect through early evening.
Dry and breezy conditions will result in critical fire weather mainly along and west of the Pecos River in southwest Texas through early this evening.
Temperatures will cool below normal again tonight, but it will not be as cold. A warming trend begins Monday.
