...NWS Damage Survey For 08/20/18 Tornado Event...

.OVERVIEW...Two thunderstorms produced tornadoes in southern and
northeastern Greene County. A team from NWS Memphis met with the
Greene County Emergency Manager and surveyed the damage. The
results are detailed below.

.Tornado in southern Greene County...

SURVEY SUMMARY: This tornado developed near County Road 714 and
damaged two barns early in its path. The tornado uprooted or
snapped several trees along County Roads 714, 740, and 707. The
tornado overturned a mobile home off of County Road 740, and
destroyed a storage shed along County Road 707. The tornado
caused minor roof damage near the intersection of County Roads
707 and 718, and along County Road 745. The tornado dissipated
just east of County Road 745.

SURVEY SUMMARY: This tornado developed along Highway 34 east of
Marmaduke. The tornado damaged a few trees and overturned and
dragged a semi-trailer designed for carrying grain.

EF Scale: The enhanced Fujita scale classifies tornadoes into the
following categories.

EF0...weak......65 To 85 mph
EF1...weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...strong....136 to 165 mph
EF4...violent...166 to 200 mph
EF5...violent...>200 mph
