Severe weather is possible across the region on Friday.  Click here for the latest information on the severe weather threat.

Also, hot ridge of high pressure will cover the center of the country through much of the weekend. Highs will likely be in the lower to middle 90s across central and southern Minnesota on Friday. Humidity will also be high with dew points around 70°F, resulting in heat indices near 100°F. As a result, a heat advisory is in effect for much of central and southern Minnesota on Friday from noon to 9 pm. Similar conditions will occur on Saturday, with the focus more across southern Minnesota.

The heat will fade some on Sunday as a backdoor cool front slips south through the area along with some showers and thundestorms.
