Expect scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms today into this evening. Some of these storms may become strong to severe with the main concern being damaging winds, heavy rains, and hail up to quarter size.
It will be quite hot again today with high temperatures in the lower to mid 90s in most valley locations. Heat index values are expected to reach 4 to 8 degrees above these max temperatures.
This is to help spread awareness about the dangers of leaving a child, and even a pet, in a closed vehicle during a warm sunny day. Please spread the word: Beat the Heat, Check the Back Seat !!!
Practice Heat Safety. Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade as often as possible.
