...Tropical Storm Cindy is Expected to Bring Potentially Heavy Rainfall to the Area Today through Saturday... A tropical plume of moisture associated with Tropical Storm Cindy will bring potentially heavy rains into east Tennessee, southwest Virginia, and southwest North Carolina. The axis of heaviest precipitation may change based on the exact track of the system, but computer models presently suggest that the Cumberland Plateau may receive the highest amounts for our area, up to three inches of rainfall through the period. Locally higher amounts are possible. Flooding is possible across the entire area with this heavy rainfall.
