Showers and thunderstorms will move across the forecast area today. There is a small chance that a few storms could become rather strong across northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia. The rain will gradually diminish from west to east through the afternoon. Highs will be lower in the middle and upper 70s due to clouds and rain.
